Traditionally, Black Friday (coming soon!) means hordes of individuals, fresh from a stomach-stuffing meal the day before, head out to the malls to shop, shop, shop until they drop.
But what if this year things went differently?
If you’ve been online for any length of time, you are sure to have frequented many a website with incredible sales of their own. Everything from discounted electronics to hand-made items are readily available online. People just like you with products and bargains.
Why not work time saving, gas saving (and hence the environment), and money saving into your holiday spending this year… shop online and support your favorite web site owner or your favorite blogger. Take some time before Black Friday and see if what you’re looking for doesn’t already exist – online – and not via some corporate entity.
It’s truly worth you time, there are many amazing deals out there (!), and you would be supporting individuals, friends, and maybe even family by frequenting these shop online websites.
For many, this year is going to be scarce pickings on Thursday. A grassroots effort to help support your fellow online product and/or service provider could make all the difference.
“Food” for thought.

I totally agree and I also made home made items
for my children via crocheting. It’s not money,
it’s the thought that counts.
I wholeheartedly agree, Theresa. There are so many wonderful deals on the internet. The majority of my Christmas shopping for this year is done … most of it from online. As mentioned it saves time, money, gas and is easier on the environment.
Sincerely,
Terry

I agree! They need to check out my Etsy site!
But what about the workout you get clawing your way from one end of the mall to the other, Diane? And the nap you get waiting in the lines of traffic getting OUT of the mall?
Thanks for the tip, but shopping online just doesn’t seem nearly as “stimulating,” or should I say “aggravating”?

I do the majority of my shopping, year round, online. This holiday season, I’m making all my gifts and I ordered all the supplies online!

I am too lazy to be out shopping, even if I did have a car
But is there really a gain when the online ordered producted is driven around in deliver vehicles?

Great thought Theresa. I agree. I love to support fellow online entrepreneurs- for my physical shopping experience I try to do at least the majority of it locally around town.

Thanks for this post. I hope there are a few ladybug lovers out there!
I save my sanity and shop on line. I already have most of it done. I can’t stand fighting the crowds, and everything being so picked over.
I have been doing online shopping for years. I do not miss the crowds, noise, etc of a mall. In fact, I can sing as loud as I want while ordering online and no one will know how bad I sing! LOL!
This will be the first black Friday in a long time that I won’t be right out there with the crowds. I think, we are going to a movie!
I can remember just one time going out the day after Thanksgiving. We were in Phoenix visiting the in-laws and, with “nothing to do” decide to head to the mall. I think we ALL forgot it was Black Friday LOL! Have never done that again. There are sales continuously right up to, and after, each holiday so what’s the huge hurry? Shop online!
Hey Linda, I hear ya
I got over shopping years ago. Now I consider it more of a chore than a way to relax. Plus the economy here in Nevada sux so there’s another reason to think wisely, buy wisely, and find good deals online. I’d really rather be saying “hey come to Las Vegas! spend your money here! boost our economy” – and I’m serious
Online shopping has saved my sanity for quite some time. I can’t imagine how I managed before.
A@A I hear ya! My father was out today (Black Friday) and came home to say, “Don’t go out there!” LOL!

I’m so not into crowds and parking lots. I leave it to everyone else, to get the headaches. It is so much more relaxing to shop online. Who doesn’t love the free shipping too?
So, how many of you actually ventured out? They say sales were up, but I didn’t know as many people willing to fight the crowds this year.

I missed the sales but I have been having good luck online. I have even found free shipping.
Hey Diane.
Just passing through again with CE!

I did almost of my shopping online again this year. There were just a few stocking stuffers that I decided to buy from the store because it’s not worth the price of shipping to get them.
