This past month in particular, I’ve received a lot of phone calls and emails from individuals who need to make money in a hurry. The problem about such a situation is that the internet is not like your typical job. You don’t have the benefit of securing a position, working for a set amount of days, and collecting that first paycheck. The other problem is that unless you’re willing to head to the Dakota’s in the middle of winter (where there are jobs abundant btw!), you may live in an area that is not enjoying the (supposed) rebound those on the Hill could like you to believe is taking place.
Make Money Idea
An idea did come to me the other day, and I was happy to have thought, “Oh here’s something useful to say to you!” It IS a valid idea, but like anything on the internet where you’d like to make money, planning ahead is your only option. So here’s an idea for you to consider:
1. Do finally break down and get your domain name and hosting – Seriously if you haven’t done that to date, make a resolution that in 2012 you will do what must be done… secure yourself a spot on the web where you can do your own thing to make money. Put a lot of thought into what “it” will be because you’re going to need to build either a web site or a blog around whatever you decide will be your primary subject matter.
2. Give yourself some lead time because you’re going to need it – The next step in my thought process to help you make money quicker than usual on the net means your web site or blog is going to need some established time online, a consistent theme around which you add input, and enough reach with the search engines so they know you exist.
3. After you’ve completed the above steps, the make money part – Assuming you follow the advice given above, it’s time to apply to do-able affiliate programs that people you know are using. That’s the key. I’m not talking about internet marketing programs, I mean apply to web sites like eBay where you know your FRIENDS and FAMILY shop. Even if they don’t shop there now, this is critical to the next phase for you to make money online.
Make Money Through Your Friends and Family
If you’ve successfully done the above, then you have a decent shot at making money – and best of all you don’t need to appeal to strangers to make it happen. Assuming your friends and external family members know of your need to make money, and you’ve signed up for affiliate programs that relate best to what your friends and family buy (not your immediate family of course since their in your boat with you, but the rest of your extended family who may still have money), then instead of asking for a hand out or a helping financial hand, you offer them another solution to help you. Here it is:
o Snail mail or email or both to said friends and family and give them your affiliate link to the products they are going to buy. You can get just about anything on eBay – games, jeans, handbags, baby supplies, pet supplies, kitchen items… the list goes on and on. And, best of all, the prices on eBay are often even better than jumping in one’s car and battling the crowds.
o Don’t be shy. Tell them straight up you are in need of supplementing either your unemployment check, your social security, or just plain have nothing coming into your household. Tell them you need to make money, but you don’t want a hand out. Tell them to use your affiliate link, purchase online using it, and everyone wins.
It takes forethought and planning, but it is possible to make money online – you just have to be willing to go those extra steps to make it happen.
How funny I did your steps 1 to 3. I got my domain and hosting. I careful choose a opportunity of what I want to promote and builded a website around it. Thanks I’m on the right track

Most people fall into the trap of making “internet marketing” sites or blogs, with very little knowledge of what that means. It’s just too broad (an umbrella). I have actually taken the advice and built a couple of website and using affiliates. The one advice I would give to people is that even if you fail, take it as a life lesson, learn and move forward…If you stop where you failed and blame others you slow your path of success. I know there where times where I felt like hanging up the hat but the part of me that wants to make this work says, No…Good Article!

Thanks Ray! At first when I read “tutorial” it had me wondering, but I know what you mean. It’s just a guideline, suggestion (perhaps motivation) for others to think outside internet marketing (which is very broad) and focus on what can be immediately possible.
In these times, people need to have revenue coming in, yet the promises they often read take a long, long time to accomplish. This, too, isn’t something that will happen overnight, but it creates the presence online too many have avoided to date. You just have to have your spot staked out. For most, if they don’t, it’s going to be a long, hard battle when it doesn’t have to be – and this way when contacting friends and family, it’s a slam dunk (assuming you have helpful friends and family).

Making money online can at times be challenging but with the correct planning and proper mindset then making money can be faster than most people think. I think the idea on using your family and friends to make money is a great one.
