When I saw the infograph below, I was shocked.
I love to read (although I confess I need to switch up my category of reading to fit the criteria listed below).
It also would be helpful if I let you know I did not go on my typical (exhaustive) research hunt to verify the data described below.
However, there’s a voice inside of me saying if it’s not 100% accurate, I’d be willing to bet it’s close.
While Kindle commercials and the like make me smile, it’s also distressing to walk into a public library and find it darn near empty.
Nothing takes the place of holding a real book in your hands. Turning the pages, maybe highlighting or turning down a corner (gasp!) to keep your place.
But if Kindle and other reader hardware keeps the generations reading, I’m all for it.

There’s so much more to this world than tweeting, texting, and playing games. Or taking useless courses, or paying for information that is abundant at your local library… for free.
See what the outcome could very well be if you only started reading on a more consistent basis! Forget the TV, curl up with a great book!
