Affiliate Marketing and Marketer Tips and Tricks for Success

Posted by Theresa Cahill  Published in MyWizardAds, advertising, advertising budget, advice, affiliate marketing, ezine ad, ezine advertising, marketing, online advertising, promoting products, solo ad

Earlier today I replied back to an email about the performance of, in this instance, a solo ad. The implication was there was something amiss about the process.

Quickly double and triple checking that all went just as planned – the service completed as ordered – (I never take things at face value especially from my own business perspective, my continued reputation as the good guy is important to me and has been for over 10 years) – I verified that yes, indeed, everything went off like clockwork.

However, since it is also vital that this person receive a reply – never, ever not answer your emails (!) – after re-reading it, I realized that without giving away the person’s identity, the reply itself would make a great, informative post.

So here is information that affiliate marketers – every online participant in terms of making money – can use. In this case, I am talking about the much-pushed “solo ad” and reference you also to the frequently asked ezine advertising questions web page on the primary site, My Wizard Ads.

Here goes:

How To Set Up A Budget For Online Advertising

Posted by Theresa Cahill  Published in advertising budget, budget, ezine advertising, how to, internet tools, online advertising, search engines, solo ad

One of the key components to your success online will be setting a budget to advertise. Many people actually forget, in their rush to sign up for, or create a program or product, that once that stage is complete, it will take money to promote. With so many potential possibilities and arenas for online advertising, reading this hopefully before you select your “home business” will be beneficial. Too many individuals can quickly find themselves in over their heads and/or out of money.

And, before we get started, do keep in mind one thing. The program – be it a team effort or individual product – must be advertised. Even the affiliate program that claims “no this, that or the next thing” is going to go nowhere fast if you do not allot x amount of money to promote it yourself. It’s unfortunate, but the truth.

So… here we go:

Easy Backlink By Simply Commenting

Posted by Theresa Cahill  Published in ezine advertising, how to, solo ad

If you’ve ever written to me or we’ve talked on the phone during business hours, you know I often bring up simple and free methods to supplement the budget you must set for your online advertising.

One of the easiest ways to draw attention to yourself and what you are promoting is by commenting on blogs. For example, visit this latest solo ad explosion post, read it, and leave a comment about what you’ve read.

You’ll be able to leave your name (personal name branding), put in a link to a website you are promoting, add an email address that no one ever uses, and add some truly good input in the comment box area. The more interesting your comment, the more likely it is that those also reading will see it – wonder who you are and what you are up to – and click your name.

There… you just got traffic for free!

The same goes for commenting on this ezine advertising blog, along with my internet marketing strategies (free advice on a wide range of topics). You’ll also discover that reading the comments of others can be just as informative (or funny) as the blog post itself.

So if you’re not using blog commenting, these free resources that abound on the web (and by the way on this blog on the right is a whole list of blogs to visit and do the same!) you are missing out on your chance to use the internet to your advantage.

Choosing The Solo Ad For Ezine Advertising

Posted by Theresa Cahill  Published in Writing, advertising, affiliate, affiliate marketing, article writing, blog, due diligence, ezine advertising, how to, solo ad

I often marvel how seemingly on a whim, program owners recommend to their (often newbie) marketers to choose solo ads. Some may call them “standalone ads,” but in my industry we call them solos.

The trouble lies in that the newbie (and often the veteran) marketer hasn’t a clue how to write a compelling ad in the first place. They try to cram everything into a small space, leaving no room for the reader’s imagination and nullifying the sole purpose to advertising… to get the click to the website. Your website is your salesperson – the website should be geared strongly enough to close the sale for you.

Allow me, at this point, to digress just a bit and start with, the problem lies in that the program selections of some aren’t worth the time or trouble TO advertise.

In a heedless rush to “make that instant money online” people do tend to choose that which is not good for them. For money making downline, up 1, list needing programs, too often the new marketer has no list, no practice at writing, and no understanding that regardless of what that fancy page tells you, you are not going to get rich overnight.

Okay maybe, just maybe 1% of you might, but for the vast majority the slog is about to begin.

Which means you need training. You need to develop your writing skills. You need to understand what belongs in your ad and what doesn’t. And I do have just the resource for you.

On any solo page (and here’s a place to start), on the My Wizard Ads website, at the very top of the page I post an entirely free resource that teaches anyone willing to commit 25 minutes of their time, the way to learn how to write effective advertisements.

These 8 tapes, each about 2-3 minutes long, are designed to teach you the art of solo ad writing. And, with just a bit of imagination, you can take these same principles and apply them to a regular “classified” ezine ad.

I have much, much more to say, but let’s just start with that most basic of free resources talked about above. Teaching yourself will not only save you headaches, but also safeguard your wallet.

Please DO take the time to head on over to how to write an effective solo ad.

Til next time!
