Do You Want to Build Your Own Business or Links For Someone Else?
The Clear Choice to Start a Blog and Grow Your Business Is Self Hosted Blogging!
You KNOW you need your own web presence but if you don't know the
truth behind search engine optimization, you're going to end up spending way too much time and money UNLESS you
choose the BEST way to present yourself.
o Autoblogging is NOT the way. What they aren't telling you about auto-blogs is that you
have to have hundreds of them running. Autoblogging "took the place of" all the spammy "adsense" websites we all
see on the net. This method of blogging is no different, it just uses a different platform (blog versus
website). You might make enough over the course of the year to finally get a check from Google (or whatever ad
agency you pick or product you're promoting), but even with a "hands off" system, it is highly doubtful you
will cover your costs. Remember if it sounds too good to be true...
o While WordPress or Blogger offer ways to blog, the fact remains that when it comes to building YOUR
business online, free blogging is not the way to go. First, free unconsciously projects "cheesy." In
other words, that success you want to project falls flat when you choose free hosting for anything online.
Your primary focus needs to be placed on projecting that "I'm
a solid business and here to stay!" attitude. Free hosting (sorry I don't make the rules)
implies you're barely scrapping by even if you really can afford your own self-hosted site.
Start Your Own Blog or Build Links For The Other Guy?
It's a sad fact that very few people take into consideration when they want to learn how to blog
and start a blog of their own:
o Using WordPress you are a subdomain. You build ever more links for Wordpress not
your business. Take a look at any WordPress hosted blogs. The stats look great don't they. But it's a false
impression. It is not your blog with the great PR and/or traffic ranking. The company getting all the credit -
search engine credit - is WordPress itself. It's the top level domain that gets the linking.
o Using Blogger the same rules applies. More links for them, while your subdomain
name gets lost in the crowd. Again, things look great, but the growth goes to the primary company - the top level
domain.
But there's an even worse possibility...!!
The True Perils of Free Blog Hosting
Are you aware of how many people, people who have poured their heart and soul into "free hosted blogs" like those
systems named above (to name just a few), have logged in and found they no longer have a blog?
It's true. When you sit within the wrong kind of blog network, you can lose all your efforts in the blink of
an eye - often through no fault of your own.
You literally are at the whim and mercy of strangers. Worse than that, you have no recourse. Once you lose your
blog, it's gone forever!
Zip, zilch, nada... gone.
Blog Network Info
So once you've decided to overcome the hurdle of working always with the thought of "will it be there tomorrow" or
making a wise choice to self-host, the next thing you most definitely need is traffic.
The long and the
short of it is that everyone wants (nay, must have) traffic, however it's the one thing that's never supplied
no matter what you do, what you join, where you go online - not for individual domains (nor those affiliate pages
they hand out so freely either - just an FYI).
Without traffic, you're just another page on the web.
Traffic serves two purposes, to:
o Give you potential clients and buyers, and
o Get you listed quickly in the search engines where your really hot market is.
Blogging means turning "seo" on its head and using the beauty of blogs to get both of the above.
It's fast, convenient, and easy to blog. However, it's an art form to get real traffic and search engine
placement.
